AMERICAN BANKRUPTCY INSITITUTE
COMPLEX FINANCIAL RESTRUCTURING PROGRAM 2011

Fordham University School of Law

October 5, 2011

Now in its eighth year with a unique format, the 2011 ABI Financial Advisors and Investment Banking Committee presents the Complex Financial Restructuring Program. The Program promotes an understanding of the role of investment bankers and financial advisors in insolvency and restructuring. A case study will be presented to dramatize the various perspectives of parties in interest as they examine strategic alternatives and seek the highest value for a troubled company. Registrants will receive the case study in advance (by e-mail). Leaders in the industry will play the role of the major constituents as they work through the case study in this day-long program. Another feature is the annual Schnelling Lecture, this year to be presented by Paula R. Reynolds, the former CRO of AIG.

Annual Anthony H.N. Schnelling Lecture Keynote Speaker
Paula R. Reynolds, former vice chairman and CRO of AIG

Paula R. Reynolds, who served as vice chairman and CRO of AIG during its historic rescue by the federal government, will deliver the annual Schnelling Lecture at ABI’s 8th Annual Complex Financial Restructuring Program, Oct. 5 at the Fordham Law School in New York. The Schnelling Lecture honors the memory of Anthony H.N. Schnelling of Bridge Associates, a corporate workout professional, former ABI Vice President and Fordham graduate. Reynolds presided over AIG’s divestiture of assets and served as the chief liaison to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Her front-row seat to the largest corporate bailout ever and the inner workings of Wall Street and the U.S. Treasury Department provides much to reflect upon during the Schnelling Lecture. Listed by Forbes as one of America’s 100 Most Powerful Women, Reynolds has served as an officer and director for some of the largest U.S. companies, including as president and CEO of Safeco Corp. from 2006-08, and chairman, president and CEO of AGL Resources from 2002-05. An expert in corporate governance, she has served as a director of Delta Air Lines and BAE Systems, among other public companies.
