Forty Years of Beatleness: A Multimedia Presentation
and Discussion
This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Beatles’ appearance
on the Ed Sullivan Show, the phenomenon known as
“Beatlemania,” and the release of their groundbreaking film
A Hard Day’s Night. Sociologist and author Candice Leonard, Ph.D.,
will present her unique analysis of this film and her research on why,
after 40 years, the Beatles are still so important not only to their
baby boomer fans, but to our entire culture. This presentation will be
held on Friday, July 16 at 10:00 am. See www.beatleness.com for more info on

free event is limited to the first 50 participants.
Tour de ABI
Join ABI for the eighth annual Tour de ABI on Friday, July 16 at 1:00
pm. Bike at your own pace
through the scenic Bretton Woods area. Boxed lunches will be provided at
12:30 pm and the ride will begin after lunch. The tour is limited to the
first 40 participants. Please select the appropriate box on the
registration form if you need a bike rental ($25 each).
Hiking Outing
Join your fellow ABI friends and family on a great hike in the
beautiful White Mountains on Friday, July 16 at 1:30 pm. We will be climbing Mt. Clinton
(Pierce), the smallest of the Southern Presidentials, via the Crawford
Path, a moderately strenuous trail that is mostly wooded until you reach
the open summit. Wonderful views can be had on clear days!
Total distance for this trip is approximately 6.2 miles (5½
hours round trip). Fit hikers will be able to complete this hike
significantly faster than 5½ hours. Trailhead is off resort.
Transportation to trailhead—on your own. Boxed lunches will be
provided at 1:00 pm, available
for pickup at the resort. This event is limited to the first 30
participants.
Golf Tournament
The tournament will take place on Friday, July 16 at 1:30 pm on The Mount Washington Course.
The $50 fee includes greens fee and cart. Beverages, box lunches
and prizes will be provided. Please check the appropriate box on the
registration form and note your handicap if you plan to play.
Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to join in the
tournament.
Tennis Tournament
The Tennis Tournament will take place on Friday, July 16 at 1:30
pm at The Mount Washington
Resort’s clay tennis courts. Participants of all skill levels are
encouraged to play. Boxed lunches will be provided. Please check the
appropriate box on the registration form if you plan to play. The event
is limited to the first 35 participants.
Cooking Demonstration
Join the award-winning culinary staff of The Mount Washington Resort
for a delectable demonstration on Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 am! Watch The Mount Washington
Resort’s Pastry Chef put together some delicious treats. Everyone
will get to sample the finished product! This free event is limited to
the first 50 participants. Two-hour event.
Fly Fishing Clinic
Novice and advanced fly fishermen or women alike will enjoy our
combination fly casting clinic, and private fly fishing event on
Saturday, July 17 at 1:00 pm. Taught by a professional casting instructor
on a private pond at The Mount Washington grounds, beginners will learn
the basics of fly casting, while more advanced casters will gain useful
pointers on perfecting their casting technique. Then strike out to
nearby trout water to test your new skills. Three-hour event. $25
fee includes tackle rental and box lunch (and fish).
Cog Railway Outing
The Little Train That Could! Enjoy a three-hour, round-trip up Mount
Washington on the world’s first mountain-climbing railway. The
ever-changing surroundings, the magnificent views, the sights and sounds
of unique steam locomotives in action, and some of the steepest railroad
tracks in existence, combine to place it among the best of the
world’s great railway journeys. Beverages will be provided. This
event will take place on Saturday, July 17 at 1:30 pm. Complimentary tickets are
available for ABI registrants and one adult guest. Tickets for
additional adults are $49. Tickets for children (ages
6–12) are $25. Sign up quickly—only a limited number
of complimentary tickets are available! Please select the appropriate
boxes on the registration form. Four-hour event. Please select the
appropriate box if you would like to purchase a boxed lunch ($10 each)
for your ride. Transportation to Cog Railway—on your own.
Horseback Riding
Equine enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the opportunity to explore
the region on horseback. The mountain meadows and forest trails open out
onto spectacular vistas and make for memorable rides. There will be a
one-hour trail ride off the hotel’s property both Friday and
Saturday, July 16 and 17 at 10:00 am and 1:45 pm. Sign up early, each time slot is limited to
six participants. This is a free event with a light snack included.

Kid’s Camp
Kids (ages 4–12) will be safe and having fun under the
supervision of The Mount Washington’s qualified staff, leaving
moms and dads worry-free. Each day, the camp will be themed to provide
extra excitement with activities and games. Meals and snacks are
included. Full-day (8:00 am–5:00 pm), half-day (8:00 am–12:00 noon or 1:00 pm–5:00 pm) and evening hours (6:00 pm–11:00 pm) are available. Please contact The Mount
Washington’s Activities Coordinator at (603) 278-8869 to sign your
child(ren) up.
