Talking Stick Golf Club, North Course
In their Arizona debut, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw chose 350 acres
of open farmland east of Scottsdale for the location of Talking Stick
Golf Club. The extraordinary 36-hole facility built by the Salt River
Pima-Maricopa Indian Community gets its name from the ancient instrument
used to mark significant historic events. The unique North Course,
ranked Number 2 in Arizona by Golfweek, assures a host of memorable golf
experiences, from links-style adventure in the grasslands to ingenious
bunkering. The uninterrupted desert panorama takes in the distant
mountain ranges, reflecting cherished rural seclusion. $150 per player
includes breakfast, cart rental, tournament fees and prizes. Please

Soaring
Thursday, December 2, 9:00 am
Fly through the sky with the greatest of ease with your own private
pilot guiding you through the clouds. You’ll have the experience
of a lifetime as you enjoy an introductory glider ride over the
foothills of Carefree. This event is four hours. The cost of $160 per
person includes transportation, guide, soft drinks and introductory
glider flight with pilot.
Tennis Tournament
Thursday, December 2, 1:00 pm
A “one-of-a-kind” experience awaits tennis enthusiasts at
the Camelback Inn’s Tennis Pavilion, featuring six all-weather
courts lit for night play, and one screened for private play. Lessons,
clinic, ball machines and racquet rentals are also available.
Round-robin format tournament. $45.00 per player includes lunch, prizes
and tournament fee.
Cattle Drive
Friday, December 3, 9:00 am
This authentic Western adventure will satisfy the cowboy in every
city slicker’s heart. Fulfill your Wild West dreams in the
mountainous terrain of the rugged desert landscape. Accompanied by an
experienced wrangler, you’ll follow the trails on horseback in
search of wayward cattle on the authentic cattle drive through the
Sonoran desert. Become a cowhand for the day and ride the open range to
your heart’s content. This is one Old West experience you’ll
remember for a lifetime! The cattle drive is four hours. The cost of
$170 per person includes transportation, guide and escort, refreshments
at the ranch, wranglers and cattle drive.
Scenic Funwater Float

River floats offer a unique and exciting way to explore a part of
Arizona few have ever seen! Rafting the inviting waters of the desert
rivers offers you a secluded and unspoiled river environment, just 40
minutes from Scottsdale. Discover migrating birds and towering Saguaro
cacti as you raft through the Tonto National Forest and into the Fort
McDowell Indian Reservation on a paddle raft with an experienced
boatman. It’s a relaxing way to enjoy your stay in the valley.
Four to five hours; $95 per person includes transportation, guide and
escort, soft drinks on board, life jacket and guided river trip. Note:
This is a flatwater river float.
Sonoran Desert Hike

The diversity of the Sonoran Desert is unmatched in any other desert.
Made up of five distinct life zones and containing over 2,500 plant
species, its uniqueness is like none other anywhere in the world.
Exploring by foot is the most intimate and educational way to experience
the desert. You’ll enjoy an up-close and personal look at the
elements that comprise the Sonoran Desert, and find answers to such
ever-popular questions as “how old is that Saguaro?” and
“which cactus did John Wayne drink from?” While more than a
simple nature walk, the hike is designed so that individuals of all
levels of fitness will enjoy themselves. This hike is four hours. The
cost of $70 per person includes transportation, guide and escort, soft
drinks, guided hike and water bottles.
High Performance Driving School
Saturday, December 4, 2:00 pm
This is the ultimate “E” ticket! Enter the world of
professional driving at this high performance driving school, located at
the International Raceway. Start your afternoon behind-the-wheel at the
auto-cross, where you’ll be timed on competitive driving through
an obstacle course at your highest speed in a
“race-prepared” Ford Mustang GT. Then, you’ll ride
“shotgun” with a seasoned instructor on one of the
country’s most demanding racetracks for a thrilling trip around
the track at speeds of up to 100 mph! This event is four hours. The cost of $250 per
person includes transportation, guide, autocross racing and hot lap with instructor.
