Hotel

The Resort

Camelback Inn Nestled on 125 acres of naturally landscaped desert, Camelback Inn, a JW Marriott Resort & Spa, is an authentic Southwestern resort. You will enjoy 36 holes of championship golf, six tennis courts, swimming and Camelback Inn’s various other recreational amenities. In January 2004, Camelback Inn joined the world-class collection of JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, the most distinctive and elegant hotels and resorts carrying the Marriott name. The resort’s 453 oversized adobe-style casita guest rooms and suites have been upgraded with all new soft goods, enhanced services, nightly turndown and new amenities. The Spa at Camelback Inn boasts a full complement of spa offerings including 32 treatment rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, spa pool, and Scottsdale’s only spa restaurant, Sprouts. In addition to the AAA Five Diamond Award that Camelback Inn has received for the past 27 years, the resort was the proud recipient in 2003 of the coveted Meetings & Conventions Gold Platter award.

Accommodations

The Camelback Inn, host Resort for the 16th Annual Winter Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona is at capacity. ABI has secured overflow room accommodations for ABI members at The Phoenician. The ABI group rate is a very favorable $249 per night.

The Phoenician is known for its lavish decor and breathtaking surroundings—plus the caring, exceptional service you would expect from a fine private club. Unparalleled elegance is artfully expressed through the resort from beautifully appointed accommodations, including an $8 million dollar art collection, to the most stunning golf course in the Southwest. Their gilded lobby commands one of the best views of the Valley of the Sun.

For more information on this stellar resort, visit The Phoenecian Web Site.

To book your room, call 1-800-888-8234 and identify yourself with the American Bankruptcy Institute. Rooms will sell out quickly, so make your reservations today!

Reservations may be made only after you have registered with ABI. Upon payment of the conference registration fees, you will receive a hotel reservation form with your conference confirmation. Rooms are held on a first-come, first-served basis. ABI cannot guarantee anyone a room after the special-rated ABI block is filled.

The Camelback Inn is sold out, but they are maintaining a waiting list. In addition to securing a room block at The Phoenecian (see above), we have compiled a list of nearby hotels for your convenience in finding accomodations.

Continuing Education Credit

Approval for approximately 12 hours of CLE/CPE credit, including three hours of ethics, is available. California MCLE—ABI certifies that this activity has been approved for MCLE credit by the State Bar of California in the amount of 12 hours, of which three hours will apply to legal ethics. ABI will apply for CPE accreditation from state boards upon request.

Refund Policy

Conference registration fees, except a $75 handling fee, will be refunded if written notice of cancellation is received by Nov. 19, 2003. No refunds will be granted after Nov. 19, but substitutions will be allowed.

ABI offers intermediate–advanced level courses, which have no prerequisites for attendance. ABI is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE sponsors. State boards of accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, 150 Fourth Ave. North, Suite 700, Nashville, TN, 37219-2417. For more information regarding administrative policies such as complaint and refund, please contact the American Bankruptcy Institute at 703-739-0800. ABI acknowledges that in some instances there will be persons who need to attend an educational seminar for CLE credit who are not able to pay full registration fees. ABI will handle such instances on a case-by-case basis and will work with the individual on alternative solutions. For persons who cannot meet the full registration rate, ABI will offer a reduced rate based on what the individual can reasonably afford to cover the cost of meals and materials. For persons unable to pay a reduced rate, ABI may allow the individual to work at the registration area for a few hours during attendee check-in, or assist in conference set up. ABI also has reduced rates for government employees, professors, law clerks and students. For information on tuition assistance, send an e-mail to John Good.
