Optional Events

Golf Tournament

Sponsored by O’Keefe & Associates Consulting

The shotgun golf tournament will begin promptly at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at the resort’s “Bear” course—designed by Jack Nicklaus. Golfers of all skill levels—beginners too—are encouraged to play. Greens fees are $125 per person (includes cart). To play, mark the appropriate box on the registration form, indicate your handicap and include payment. Lunch will be provided at 12 noon.

Family Picnic/Barbeque

Sponsored by Beringea and Shaw Gussis Fishman Glantz Wolfson & Towbin LLC

For guests and attendees not participating in the golf tournament, an old fashioned all-you-can-eat cookout picnic will be offered on Friday, June 17, at 12 noon. Bring the kids (young and old) for burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and beverages. Kid-friendly entertainment will be provided.

Fly Fishing Masterclass and Float Trip

Whether you want to get started fly fishing or are a “seasoned ol’ pro,” This clinic promises fun for everyone. From basic fundamentals to advanced fly casting techniques and analysis, Dave Leonhard, master certified casting instructor and director of instruction at the Orvis Michigan Fly Fishing School will improve your fly fishing skills. Following your lesson, you will get to try out your new-learned techniques on the water as you float the blue ribbon Manistee River in search of elusive troply rainbow and brown trout. Saturday, June 18, 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., $295 fee includes one-hour instruction, lunch, transportation, guide fees and equipment.

Tall Ship Wine Tasting Cruise

Join us aboard the schooner Manitou, one of the largest sailing vessels on the Great Lakes Saturday, June 18 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Enjoy a unique adventure back in time as you discover the beauty of Grand Traverse Bay from the deck of this majestic sailing vessel. The Tall Ship Manitou is a replica of an 1800’s “coasting” cargo schooner, similar to those that sailed the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. While aboard, you will sample a medley of wines from Leelanau Cellars and dine on the savory Mediterranean cuisine of Silver Swan Homemade Foods. Gifts from Leelanau Cellars will be raffled at the end of the cruise. $75 per person.

Dessert Reception and Rock-N-Roll Dance Party
