Annual Golf Tournament
The shotgun golf tournament will take place on Thursday, July 13 at
1:00 pm at the Green Valley Country Club. Green Valley Country
Club is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole course located on Aquidneck
Island. The $125 fee includes greens fee and cart. Beverages, box
lunches and prizes will be provided. Please check the appropriate
box on the registration form if you plan to play; participants of all
skill levels are encouraged to join in the tournament.
Tennis Outing
Enjoy watching some of the top men in professional tennis compete in
the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championship for the Van Alen
Cup. An ATP event, this tournament is played on the legendary
grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Tickets are
for the Friday Main Draw Singles and Doubles Quarterfinal matches from
11:00am until 4:00pm. Tickets are limited to the first 35
people. The $15 fee includes admission to the tournament, boxed
lunch and beverages. Boxed lunches will be provided and available
before you head to the Hall of Fame.
Tour de ABI
Join ABI for the tenth annual Tour de ABI on Friday, July 14 at 1:00
pm. Bike at your own pace on a tour of historic Newport.
Boxed lunches will be provided, and the ride will begin after
lunch. The tour is limited to the first 40 participants. You
are welcome to bring your own bikes or mark the appropriate box on the
registration form if you need a bike rental ($25 fee).
ABI Regatta!
Grab your sunglasses and sunscreen and get ready for the race of a
lifetime! Five Twelve-Meter Sloops - Weatherly,
Intrepid, Nefertiti, Freedom and American Eagle - are
waiting to take Teams BACC Sovereign Bank Asset Based Lendiing; Mirus
Capital Advisors Inc.; Ropes & Gray LLP; Sullivan & Worcester
LLP; Wachovia Capital Finance racing on the Narragansett Bay.
These classic Twelves have all raced for yachting’s most coveted
prize, The America’s Cup, and two have won that prestigious
sailing race! This event will take place on Friday, July 14 at
1:30 pm and is limited to the first 50 participants. Boxed lunches
will be provided, and the race will begin after lunch. The $25 fee
includes a boxed lunch and team hats.
Sailing Aboard the Schooners Madeleine and
Adirondack II
Experience the joy of sailing and a memorable perspective of Newport
aboard these classic 78-foot schooners. These are the largest,
fastest and most beautiful schooners Newport has to offer. As you
glide smoothly through the waves enjoying gorgeous coastline views,
you’ll be awed as you glance upward at the sails billowing from
65-foot masts. The two-hour sail on the Madeleine will begin at
12:30 pm on Friday, July 14. The two-hour sail on the Adirondack
II will begin at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 15. The $25 fee
includes the two-hour charter, soft drinks and a boxed lunch.
Kite Flying at Brenton State Park
Let’s go fly a kite at Brenton State Park! Brenton State
Park affords its visitors one of the most commanding and spectacular
views on the East Coast. The park is located at the point of land
where Narragansett Bay meets the Atlantic, which provides some of the
best wind for kite flying. Come watch and learn from local Newport
kite flying instructors then join in on the fun and you get to keep the
kite! This fun-filled afternoon is from 1:00-5:00pm; Saturday,
July 15. The $35 fee includes transportation to/from the park,
instruction, snacks and a kite!
Walking Tour of Historic Newport
Newport's famous historic district is best seen on foot, so you can
experience the details of Newport's architectural, cultural and social
heritage first hand. The tour begins in the center of the old town
and focuses on several restored buildings that predate the American
Revolution, the history of some of the earliest houses, and the families
who lived there. Points of interest include: Touro Synagogue,
Redwood Library, Colony House, Brick Market, Quaker Meeting House, and
Trinity Church among others. This hour and a half tour begins at
1:30pm on Saturday, July 15. A boxed lunch before the tour begins
and bottle water during the tour will be provided.
Kidz Camp
Kids (ages 3-12) will be safe and having fun under the supervision of
qualified staff, leaving moms and dads worry-free. Age-appropriate
activities and games are sure to keep everyone happy! The hours of the
program are 8am-5pm Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15. Lunch and
snacks are included. If you would like to register your child(ren)
please email Children’s Conference Care at childconf@aol.com to receive a
registration packet and more details. Pre-registration is encouraged; be
sure to sing up or before June 23 to secure a space. Walk-in
availability cannot be guaranteed.
