Travel
Auto: By car, Newport is an easy drive from Boston, Providence,
Worcester or Hartford and is only four hours from New York. Avis care

Air
Providence’s T.F. Green airport is a short 27 miles and
Boston’s Logan airport is approximately 65 miles from the Newport
Marriott.
Hotel
In the heart of historic Newport RI, overlooking Newport Harbor, the
Newport Marriott hotel provides an exceptional location to explore
America's First Resort. The Marriott Newport offers first-class
accommodations, an indoor pool and fitness center. The superb
harborside location is close to all of Newport's legendary attractions
including the breathtaking Cliff Walk, Newport Mansions, The
International Tennis Hall of Fame and Castle Hill Lighthouse.
ABI has arranged for special conference rates of $299
single/double. To secure the special rate, reservations must be
made by June 19, 2006. Reservations may be made only once you have
registered with ABI. Upon payment of the conference registration
fees, you will receive a hotel reservation Form with your conference
confirmation. Rooms are held on a first-come, first-served
basis. ABI cannot guarantee anyone a room after the special-rated
ABI block is filled.
Conference/Forum Attire
Conference attire is casual; no business suits are necessary.
Continuing Education Credit
Approval for approximately 9.25 hours of CLE/CPE
credit, including 1.5 hours of ethics for the Northeast
Bankruptcy Conference and 6 hours of CLE/CPE credit
including 1.5 of ethics for the Consumer Forum, is
pending in all states.
Cancellation Policy
All conference registration fees, except a $75 handling fee, will be
refunded if written notice of cancellation is received by June 16,
2006. No refunds will be honored after June 16 but substitutions
will be allowed.
Attorney Specialist Certification
The American Board of Certification (ABC) will offer its business
bankruptcy, consumer bankruptcy and creditors’ rights exams at the
Newport Marriott on Thursday, July 13 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Details on the certification process, exam composition and a sample exam
can be obtained by calling ABC at (703) 739-1023, by e-mailing abc@abcworld.org or by visiting the
ABC website at www.abcworld.org.
The ABC certification programs are sponsored by the American Bankruptcy
Institute and the Commercial Law League of America, and all three
programs are accredited by the American Bar Association.
