September 24–25, 2007
Renaissance Hotel, Alameda Santos  •  São Paulo, Brazil

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) is proud to announce we are co-hosting Instituto Brasileiro de Gestão e Turnaround (IBGT) Fifth Annual International Corporate Recovery Forum taking place Sept. 22-25 at the Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel, located at Alameda Santos in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The forum, which also includes the special collaboration of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ), brings together over 40 of the most distinguished Brazilian and international experts to discuss issues related to crisis prevention and corporate recovery and renewal. It is the largest event in Brazil for organizations and professionals interested in change management, corporate restructuring, structured finance, business and reorganization law, risk management and distressed investment.

On September 22-23, the Symposium judges from Brazil and the U.S. will participate in a series of workshops to consider the practical problems of handling cross-border cases, thus increasing the level of understanding and cooperation among courts. The closed workshops permit the judges to have a frank dialogue on how to find solutions, and help inform the public practitioner programs that follow.

Take a look at some of the exciting topics from the Fifth Annual International Corporate Recovery Forum:

  • A View from the U.S. Bench: Key Structural and Practical Issues of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code–Critical Success Factors
  • A View from Brazil’s Bench: Key Structural and Practical Issues of Brazil’s New Corporate Bankruptcy and Recovery Law
  • Cooperation, Direct Communication and Coordination of Cross-Border Cases between U.S./Brazilian Courts
  • Lenders’ View: Key Concerns, Relevant Aspects, DIP, Cash Collateral, Prerequisites
