Golf Tournament

Out of the flat desert landscape, Pete Dye sculpted a thrilling and thorough test of golf known as the La Quinta Dunes Course. Gentle mounds and unique bunkering combine with an abundance of water to produce 18 distinctive holes, including the 433-yard par 4 17th, ranked as one of the 18 toughest holes in the country by the PGA of America. $200 per player includes breakfast, cart rental, prizes and tournament fee. ABI Golf Tour @ GREG Norman PGA West

Palm Springs desert golf from the Down Under perspective. It’s only fitting that the Shark’s contribution to the Palm Springs golf experience should be carved from the floor of an ancient ocean. Greg Norman captured the essence of desert golf with an “Outback” flair in this challenging but fair design that features an abundance of sand, sage, colorful pockets of wildflowers, nine lakes and spectacular panoramic vistas, unmatched anywhere in the Coachella Valley. This Norman gem recently became Audubon Certified. $200 per player includes boxed lunch, cart rental, prizes and tournament fee. La Quinta Resort & Club’s world-class tennis club is consistently rated in the “Top 20” by Tennis Magazine. Guests can play on hard, grass and clay surfaces. A fully stocked Pro Shop, sunken court and Olympic-sized pool and spa surround the historic clubhouse, which was once a gracious estate. Fault Line Jeep Tour

This awe-inspiring journey in classic off-road jeeps takes guests deep into the heart of the San Andreas Fault. Canyon Hike

A highly valuable archeological and recreational site and ancestral home of the Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indians, Indian Canyons treats hikers to waterfalls, palm tree oases and spectacular rock formations. The canyon is one of the area’s most popular outdoor destinations, featuring not only great moderate hiking trails, but also fabulous photo opportunities and very diverse landscapes.
