The 14th Annual Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference will be held Jan. 22-23 in downtown Denver at the Westin Tabor Center.  This year's program promises to provide attendees with an interactive learning experience led by a faculty of prominent bankruptcy judges as well as experienced practitioners.  Visit the ABI website to learn more or click here to register today!

The session, "The Saloon or the Corral? Jurisdictional Battle from Forum-shopping," will be of particular interest to the committee.  Panelists will discuss a host of topics, including contract forum selection as a limitation on exercise of bankruptcy court jurisdiction, statutory basis of bankruptcy court jurisdiction and removal actions.  Panelists will include Troy J. Aramburu of Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough PC in Salt Lake City, Hon. A. Bruce Campbell of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (D. Colo.) in Denver, Sally E. Edison of McGuireWoods LLP in Pittsburgh and Christian Carl Onsager of Onsager, Staelin & Guyerson, LLC in Denver.  David E. Committee Session at the 27th Annual Spring Meeting

The 27th Annual Spring Meeting will be held April 1-4 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, just south of our Nation's Capitol in National Harbor, Md. This year's conference will have a special focus on the tough policy choices facing the new administration and Congress. The Bankruptcy Litigation Committee will hold a joint session on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with the Finance and Banking Committee. Mark M. Maloney of King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta will moderate the panel for the session entitled "Lender Liability in the Current Financial Crisis: The Latest Thinking on Selected Issues."
