Committee Session Materials for ABI's 21st Annual Winter Leadership Conference

ABI's 21st Annual Winter Leadership Conference will take place Dec. 3-5 at the gorgeous La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif. La Quinta is the classic Palm Springs resort, nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Enjoy the beautiful landscape, as well as renowned tennis, golf and the spa. This year's conference will offer insights from some of the top insolvency and restructuring experts on issues confronting the profession in 2010.

The Professional Compensation Committee will partner with the Consumer Bankruptcy Committee to present a session entitled “The ABI Consumer Fee Study: The Results of the Pilot Study and Where We Are Going from Here" on Friday, Dec. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Panelists in the session will discuss the proposed Consumer Fee Study to examine the effect of BAPCPA on fees and expenses in consumer cases. Hon. Steven W. Rhodes of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (E.D. Mich.) in Detroit will moderate. Panelists will include James H. Cossitt, Attorney & Counsellor at Law in Kalispell, Mont. and Prof. Lois R. Get Involved by Volunteering for a Committee Leadership Position

The Professional Compensation Committee currently has openings for a Newsletter Editor and a Listserve Facilitator. The Newsletter Editor solicits and gathers original articles from members for quarterly newsletters, while the Listserve Facilitator initiates and ensures frequent and appropriate listserve discussion on substantive matters relevant to the committee.
