Committee Co-Chairs and New Leadership Positions Announced

ABI is pleased to announce your 2008-2009 co-chairs, as well as the addition of five new leadership positions.  These new positions are a result of your feedback regarding opportunities for involvement and advancement in the association.  The first position is that of the Education Director, who will assist the chairs in coordinating and administering the educational programs each year at the Annual Spring Meeting and the Winter Leadership Conference, as well as any other educational projects.  The second position is that of the Listserve Moderator, who will ensure that the committee has frequent and relevant listserve discussions.  The third position is that of the Newsletter Editor, who will ensure that the committee publishes newsletters with original articles at least quarterly.  The fourth position is that of the Membership Relations Director, who will communicate with committee members to recruit and facilitate involvement.  This person will also make recommendations to the chairs as to members who are willing and able to serve in leadership positions or assist with other committee matters.  The fifth position is that of the Special Projects/Task Force Leader, who will lead ad hoc groups as tasked by the chairs to perform special projects.

Geoff Groshong resigned as co-chair of the committee, effective at the conclusion of the Annual Spring Meeting. He has done an excellent job serving on the committee over the last several years and will be missed. We thank Geoff for his leadership and many contributions over the years and wish him well in his new endeavors.

Currently, the Membership Relations Director position is available. Please contact one of your co-chairs to express your interest. Serving on a committee is the first step toward a greater leadership role in the association, in addition to providing excellent business development opportunities through member contact. Descriptions for each position are linked below.
