WELCOMEWelcome back to Tucson for ABI's 20th annual Winter Leadership Conference! This year's program features more topical educational content than ever, including full descriptions for more than 20 sessions by our member committees, reinvigorated and restructured last year under the leadership of then-President Reggie Jackson. As you can see from the roster of speakers and the depth of the topics, we look forward to hearing the insights of some of the top people in the insolvency and restructuring world on issues we all will confront in 2009. This year, ABI's Vice President- Education Jim Markus has also added a "Great Debate" series - so popular each year at our Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. In addition, the number of concurrent sessions has expanded from three to four, to give you even greater flexibility in customizing your educational experience.
Optional and networking events provide excellent opportunities for business development and for renewing friendships among the ABI extended family. The guest speaker at the Friday luncheon is William Safire, who has been a giant in the art of effective written communication for more than 30 years. The International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) will also present its Woman of the Year in Restructuring Award at the luncheon. The final night dinner features a comedy star of both the small and big screen, Larry Miller, just before another command performance by ABI's legendary rock band, The Indubitable Equivalents.
Experience everything under the sun while enjoying the high Sonoran Desert at the Westin La Paloma, the Southwest's premier meeting resort. Nestled at the foothills of the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains, La Paloma has earned overwhelming recognition for its state-of-the-art facilities and world-class service. I look forward to seeing you there!
